To
Guideposts Magazine - Carmel,
NY
From Danbury:
Take 84 West to exit 19.
At the end of the exit, make a Right onto 312. At the second light, make a
Right onto Route 6. Follow this past the Putnam Plaza
shopping center on your right. You will go up a steep hill. When you get to
the top of the hill, look for a road to your left called Church Street. Make a Left onto Church Street.
(If you miss this, continue up to the light and make a left. Make an
immediate left onto Seminary
Hill Road.) When you reach a four way
intersection, make a Left onto Seminary
Hill Road. Look for a sign on your left that
says Guidepost. Make a left into the driveway. Park in the parking lot at the
back. Enter the building through the back door marked Security.
From Mahopac:
Take Route 6 North/East
to Carmel.
You will curve around the right of Lake
Gilead. When you reach
the stoplight for Church Street,
make a Right. Make a Right onto Seminary
Hill Road. Look for a sign on your left that
says Guidepost. Make a left into the driveway. Park in the parking lot at the
back. Enter the building through the back door marked Security.
From Lake Carmel:
Take Route 52 South to Carmel. When you reach
the intersection with Route 6 (across the street from Reed Memorial Library),
make a Right. Make the first Left onto Seminary Hill Road. Look for a sign on
your left that says Guidepost. Make a left into the driveway. Park in the
parking lot at the back. Enter the building through the back door marked
Security.
To
Gilead Presbyterian Church - Carmel,
NY
From Danbury:
Take 84 West to exit 19.
At the end of the exit, make a Right onto 312. At the second light, make a
Right onto Route 6. Follow this past the Putnam Plaza
shopping center on your right. You will go up a steep hill. When you get to
the top of the hill, look for a road to your left called Church Street. Make a Left onto Church Street.
(If you miss this, continue up to the light and make a left. Make an
immediate left onto Seminary
Hill Road.) When you pass the Funeral Home on
your Right, make the next Right into the parking lot. You can enter the
building through the front door.
From Mahopac:
Take Route 6 North/East
to Carmel.
You will curve around the right of Lake
Gilead. When you reach
the stoplight for Church Street,
make a Right. Make a Right onto Seminary
Hill Road. Go straight through the four way
intersection. Make the first Left into the parking lot. You can enter the
building through the front door.
From Lake Carmel:
Take Route 52 South to Carmel. When you reach
the intersection with Route 6 (across the street from Reed Memorial Library),
make a Right. Make the first Left onto Seminary Hill Road. At the four way
intersection, make a Left. Make the first Left into the parking lot. You can
enter the building through the front door.

Cold Spring
Methodist Church
- Cold Spring, NY
From the North:
From Fishkill/Route 84 - Take Route 9D South to Cold Spring. At the main
intersection with Main Street
(traffic light), make a left onto Main
Street. Make your third left onto Orchard Street.
The church is on the corner of Main
Street and Orchard Street.
From the South:
From Bear Mountain
Bridge or Garrison -
Take Route 9D North to Cold Spring. At the main intersection with Main Street
(traffic light), make a right onto Main
Street. Make your third left onto Orchard Street.
The church is on the corner of Main
Street and Orchard Street.
From the East:
From Carmel
or the Taconic State Parkway
- Take Route
301 West to Cold Spring. In Cold Spring Route 301 becomes Main Street. As you head downhill, you
will see the church on your right at the corner of Main Street and Orchard Street.
From the West:
Cold Spring borders the Hudson River on the West so you would want to take
either the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge and head South (see directions above) or the
Bear Mountain Bridge and head North (see directions
above.)
To
First United Methodist Church - Brewster,
NY
From the East:
Take I-84 West to Exit
20. Follow directions on ramp to Route 6 for Brewster. (First it bears right
for both Route 22 and Route 6, then Route 6 exits to the right.) At end of
ramp is a traffic light. Turn right onto Route 6 Go down the hill and bear
left at the light (it goes under Route 84 bridge). Turn right at next light
as Route 6 heads into the village
of Brewster. The church
is in the village on the left side just before the next light.
From the South (There are
2 ways):
Take Route 684 North. Go
to end of Route 684. Follow exit to right for Route 6 Brewster. Take I-84
West to Exit 20. Follow directions on ramp to Route 6 for Brewster. (First it
bears right for both Route 22 and Route 6, then Route 6 exits to the right.)
At end of ramp is a traffic light. Turn right onto Route 6 Go down the hill
and bear left at the light (it goes under Route 84 bridge). Turn right at
next light as Route 6 heads into the village of Brewster.
The church is in the village on the left side just before the next light.

Take Route 22 North to
Route 6 - Brewster. Make a left at the traffic light. Follow Route 6 into the
village of Brewster. The church is in the village
on the left side just before the next light.
From the North (There are
2 ways):
Take Route 22 South to
Route 6 West. Follow exit to right for Route 6 - Brewster. (First it bears

Take the Taconic State Parkway
to Route 84 East. Heading East take exit 19. Make a right at the end of the
ramp onto Route 312. Go 1 mile to end of Route 312. Make a left at the light
onto Route 6 East. Stay on Route 6 and pass the train station on your right.
At the train station bear to the left. Immediately after the next light, the
church is on your right.
From the West (There are
several ways):
If North or Route 301.
Follow directions for North #2 going East on Route 84
- or -
On Route 301 - go East to
ending at Junction of Route 52 & Route 301. You are facing the County
Court House at the traffic light (Route 301 & Route 52). Turn right and
go one block to next traffic light. Make a left onto Route 6. Stay on Route 6
for a few miles until you pass the lakes and then a train station in the village of Brewster on your right. At the train
station, bear to the left. Immediately after the next light, the church is on
your right.

Take Route 6 North to Carmel. At junction
(traffic light) of Route 6 & Route 52, make a right turn. Follow Route 6
a few miles until you pass the lakes and then a train station in the village of Brewster on your right. At the train
station, bear to the left. Immediately after the next light, the church is on
your right.
To
Drew United Methodist Church - Carmel, NY
From Danbury:
Take 84 West to exit 19.
At the end of the exit, make a Right onto 312. At the second light, make a
Right onto Route 6. Follow this past the Putnam Plaza shopping center on your
right. You will go up a steep hill. When you get to the light at the top of
the hill, make a right on Route 52. Drew United Methodist Church is the stone
church on your right. (Just after St. James the Apostle.) Park in the back.
From Mahopac:
Take Route 6 North/East
to Carmel. You will curve around the right of Lake Gilead. When you reach the
intersection between Route 6 and Route 52, take 52. You will see a stone
church on your right. (Just after St. James the Apostle.) Park in the back.
From Lake Carmel:
Take Route 52 South to
Carmel. When you pass through Carmel, look for a stone church on your left.
If you see St. James the Apostle on your left, you have gone too far. Park in
the back.
To The Old Southeast Church - Brewster, NY
From the North:
Take Route 22 South to
Doansburg Road. Turn left at the traffic light. A sign says "To Putnam
Lake". This is also the Mt. Ebo Corporate Center. Make the first right
into the parking lot of Pharama, Inc. (pharmaceuticals company). Do not pass
the Post Office. There will be a footpath leading to this historic Old
Southeast Church.
From the South:
Take Route 22 North to
Doansburg Road. Turn right at the traffic light. A sign says "To Putnam
Lake". This is also the Mt. Ebo Corporate Center. Make the first right
into the parking lot of Pharama, Inc. (pharmaceuticals company). Do not pass
the Post Office. There will be a footpath leading to this historic Old
Southeast Church.
To
Brewster High School - Brewster, NY
From the East (Danbury):
Take I-84 W toward N.Y.
State. Take the RT-312 exit- EXIT 19- toward CARMEL (0.2 miles). Turn LEFT
onto NY-312 (1.3 miles). Turn LEFT onto CR-62/FARM TO MARKET RD (0.4 miles).
Turn RIGHT onto FOGGINTOWN RD (0.2 miles). High School is on your left at 50
Foggintown Rd Brewster, NY 10509
From the West (Fishkil,
NY, or the Taconic State Parkway):
Take the TACONIC STATE
PKWY to I-84 E toward DANBURY. Take the RT-312 exit- EXIT 19- toward CARMEL/BREWSTER
(0.2 miles). Turn LEFT onto NY-312 (1.6 miles). Turn LEFT onto CR-62/FARM TO
MARKET RD (0.4 miles). Turn RIGHT onto FOGGINTOWN RD (0.2 miles). High School
is on your left at 50 Foggintown Rd Brewster, NY 10509
From the North:
Take Route 22 South to
Sears Corners. Turn RIGHT onto NY-312. Turn RIGHT onto CR-62/FARM TO MARKET
RD (0.4 miles). Turn RIGHT onto FOGGINTOWN RD (0.2 miles). High School is on
your left at 50 Foggintown Rd Brewster, NY 10509
From the South:
Take US-6 headed North to
Carmel. (Note that at Lake Gleneida it turns right at the traffic light.)
After McDonalds continue to 3rd traffic light. Turn LEFT onto NY-312 (2.6
miles). Turn LEFT onto CR-62/FARM TO MARKET RD (0.4 miles). Turn RIGHT onto
FOGGINTOWN RD (0.2 miles). High School is on your left at 50 Foggintown Rd
